Security is the cornerstone of our platform. It’s part of our business’ DNA. Two-Factor Authentication is just one of the processes we use to provide an extra security layer (either your email or an Authenticator app) to help keep you and your account fully secured.
In this article we cover:
About Two-Step Verification
Two-Step Verification adds an extra layer of safeguarding. You'll need to enter your password and a distinctive 6-digit security code. This code can be send to your registered email or created by an Authenticator app associated with your Octet account.
Default settings
By default, your security code will be sent to your registered email address, however you can use an Authenticator app on a smartphone if you prefer.
Choosing your Method
Navigate to your Account Preferences via your Account Menu in the upper right corner of our platform. Here, you can opt for either Email or Authenticator App as your preferred method of Two-Step Verification.
About Authenticator Apps
Authenticator apps generate Two-Step Verification codes on your chosen device to provide an extra layer of security to your account.
Setup your Authenticator App
Upon selecting the Authenticator app, a pop-up window with a unique QR code will appear. Follow these steps to set it up:
Using your authenticator device:
Scan the QR code using your authenticator device’s camera.
Alternatively, manually copy and paste or enter the security code below the QR code into your authenticator app.
Your app will generate a 6-digit code.
Click "Verify Code" on the pop-up and enter the 6-digit code from your Authenticator app.
After entering the code, click "Save changes".
If successful, you will be presented with a success message to confirm that your Two-Step Verification method has been updated.
